Confirmed the revocation of the consular restrictions previously imposed.
With the Presidential Proclamation (P.P.) ‘A Proclamation on Revoking Proclamation 10014’ of February 24, 2021, President Biden announces the revocation of the previous P.P. 10014 ‘Suspension of Entry of Immigrants Who Present a risk to the United States Labor Market during the Economic Recovery following the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Outbreak”.
FOLLOWING THE LIFTING OF THE PROCLAMATION, THE MAIN CHANGES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
- Consulates announce the gradual resumption of routine consular activities along with urgent services that continue to be provided;
- Files for visa applicants who have not yet been granted an interview appointment will be processed as outlined in the schedule for the gradual resumption of consular services;
- Applicants whose requests remain valid but have been refused based on P.P. 10014 must await instructions from the consulate where they were interviewed;
- Those in possess of a Diversity Visa issued in 2020 and still valid can enter the United States. On the contrary, those who applied for a Diversity Visa for 2021 will have to wait to get contact for the interview, as ruled by the program of gradual restart of consular activities.
The prohibition on entry into the United States for those who have stayed in or transited through the People’s Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Schengen Area, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Brazil, and South Africa in the 14 days prior to travel remains in effect.
