From October the 1st, 2022, Canada has lifted the majority of its travel restrictions, thus making both the entry and stay in the Country easier. However, each province of Canada may apply specific internal measures. Moreover, the Government still recommends caution and social responsibility, following the appropriate health protocols when traveling.
Table of contentsStarting from the 1st of October 2022, the Government of Canada has removed most of its travel restrictions at the federal level. As a result, no Covid-19 mandatory requirement is imposed on travelers coming to Canada. Therefore, both vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers from all Countries can enter Canada.
However, travelers entering in and transiting through Canada must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation to be allowed to enter the Country. Moreover, each province of Canada may introduce specific measures with short to no notice.
From the 1st of October 2022, travelers no longer need to submit any covid-19 or vaccination certificate, regardless of their vaccination status. Moreover, they must no longer get a test or undergo quarantine once arrived in Canada.
However, quarantine will be mandatory if you develop symptoms during your stay. In such case, rules vary from one province to another. Moreover, each province of Canada may introduce specific measures at short notice.
In addition to the traditional travel documents, to enter in and transit through the Country, travelers must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to be allowed to board the flight directed to Canada.
Currently, there are no federal lockdown restrictions in force. Therefore, it is no longer needed to submit a vaccination or test certificate to have access to working and public places.
However, the Government still recommends caution and social responsibility while being in public places. Moreover, each province of Canada may introduce restrictions or measures at very short notice, including internal travel restrictions.
Since the 1st of October 2022, the use of face masks is no longer compulsory at the federal level. However, the Government still recommends its use on public transport. Moreover, each province may apply specific rules concerning the mask wearing. Finally, the Government suggests maximizing the physical distance from people outside one’s household.
