- ENTRY VISA OBTAINMENT (within six months of the nullaosta’s validity)
- RESIDENCE PERMIT APPLICATION (within eight days of entry into Italy)
- DECLARATION OF HOSPITALITY (within 48 hours where required)

How long does the scientific research permit last?
The permit is issued by the competent Police Headquarters for the duration of the research program, which can be either fixed-term (up to 2 years) or indefinite.
Can the scientific research residence permit be converted?
A scientific research residence permit can only be converted at the end of the research project, upon presentation of documentation certifying the completion of the research covered by the agreement.
