Law decree 145/2024, containing urgent provisions on the entry of foreign workers to Italy, has introduced several immigration updates.

Among these, it established an experimental ten thousand “extra-quota” entries for foreign workers the in family or social-healthcare assistance sectors. These quotas are for the care of individuals with disabilities, persons aged 90 or over, and children up to 6 years of age.

New work permit application forms

Through a note published on the Ministry of Interior’s Service Portal, the authorities have communicated instructions for completing work permit applications for the aforementioned categories.

Specifically, applicants must use the “A-BIS fuori quota” form within the “Compila domande” section on the portal.

In these cases, employers shall submit the work permit request through duly registered employment agencies. Alternatively, employers may contact employer associations that are signatories to the National Collective Labor Agreement for the domestic sector. These agencies or associations submit the application on behalf of the employer. They do so electronically, via the dedicated Ministry of the Interior portal.

Finally, the work permit request may be submitted in the name of the spouse, a relative or an in-law of the person receiving assistance. For more information, we invite you to check our dedicate article.
