New increase of the French minimum wage starting from January 1st 2024

Due to the inflation trend in France, the minimum wage is adjusted accordingly at the beginning of every year.

As a result of the Decree of 20 December 2023, the SMIC increased to €11.65 from January 1st 2024, thus increasing by 1.13% compared to the last increase in May 2023, when the hourly minimum wage was set at €11.52.

The year just ended led to an increase of the net minimum monthly salary from €1,353.07 (in January 2023) to €1,383.08 (for December 2023).

With the latest update in force as from January 1st 2024, therefore, the gross remuneration of a worker employed for 35 hours of work per week amounts to a monthly wage of €1,766.92 (€11.65/hour), resulting in a net wage of €1,398.70 per month
