Learn entry requirements in Austria to plan safe business trips in line with national restrictions.
As of May 16th 2022 Austria has lifted most of the covid restrictions. However, the COVID-19-Einreiseverordnung 2022 (Covid-19 Entry Regulation 2022) continues to regulate the entry from States with a very high epidemiological risk into Austria. For these territories listed in the Appendix 1 of the regulation, there are important requirements which have to be fulfilled (such as submission of 3G proof, quarantine and pre-travel clearance form).
In addition, the Government of Austria still recommends to follow the proper hygiene practices for covid-19 to protect yourself and others.

1. Austria entry requirements
As of May 16th 2022 Austria has lifted most of the entry requirements for travellers who enter the Country from States and territories not listed in the Annex 1 of the Entry Regulation. There are therefore no entry restrictions for these travellers.
On the contrary, entry from States and territories with a very high epidemiological risk is only possible to a very limited extent. Moreover, travellers must complete an electronic registration, present a valid 3G proof and quarantine.
2. Valid 3G proof and vaccine in Austria
Entry to Austria from States and territories not listed in the Appendix 1 of the Entry Regulation is no longer subject to 3G proof (i.e. proof of vaccination, recovery or of a negative test result for SARS-CoV-2).
However, travellers coming from States and territories with a very high epidemiological risk must submit a valid vaccine or recovery certificate or in alternative a negative Covid-19 test result. Please, note that these documents must fulfill certain requirements. We invite you to contact our Experts for further information about a valid 3G proof.
