Digital Registry: New Portal for Changing Residence in Italy

Starting February 1st, 2022, Italian citizens with a digital identity will be able to change their residence online.

New portal

Starting from February 1st, 2022, citizens of thirty-one Italian municipalities, including Bologna, Venice, and Florence, will be able to access the portal of the National Registry of the Resident Population (ANPR) to perform the following operations:

  • Change of residence due to a move from another Italian municipality or from abroad
  • Change of address within the same municipality

To access the service, you must have a digital identity, such as SPID, Electronic Identity Card (CIE), or National Service Card (CNS). After the initial trial phase in these municipalities, the service will be gradually extended to the entire Italian territory.
