Who can request the criminal record certificate
Application requirements

The Certificate is downloaded from the national register containing data on judicial and administrative measures relating to specific individuals and is regulated by Art.24 DPR 313/02.
The certificate can be requested by:
- Italian and foreign citizens who currently reside or have resided in Italy.
- The applicant, or their authorized delegate, must submit the request using the appropriate form, attaching a valid identity document.
What is required to obtain the criminal record certificate
Supporting documents
Applicants must provide the following documents and information:
- Personal information, including place of residence, identity document number, and email address.
- Valid identity document (identity card or passport).
- If the certificate is requested via proxy, the signed proxy form from the applicant must be attached.
- Administrative fees and stamps: Fee for issuing each certificate: €3.92; Duty stamp: €16 every 2 pages; Urgent issuance: additional €3.92.
When to apply for the criminal record certificate
Timeline for the certificate release
- Validity: Regardless of its use, certificates are valid for six months.
- Standard processing time: In most cases, the certificate can be collected within one week to ten working days.
- Urgent issuance: If the certificate is requested as urgent, the document can be collected the day after the request.

Can I request the certificate if I am not in Italy?
Yes. It is possible to request the certificate from abroad through a delegated A&P consultant. In this case, the consultant manages the procedure at the competent Court on behalf of the applicant.
Can the validity of the certificate be extended?
Regardless of its use, the certificate is valid for six months from the date of issue. After this period, a new certificate must be requested.
Who can request the certificate?
The certificate can be requested by Italian and foreign citizens residing in Italy. Some certificates, such as Pending Charges Certificates, must be requested only at the Court of the place where the applicant has the official residence.
