Application requirements

The Criminal Record Certificate is regulated by Article 24 of Presidential Decree no. 313/2002, and it is issued on the basis of the records held in the Criminal Records Information System.
The certificate can be requested by Italian and foreign citizens who are currently resident or have resided in Italy. The applicant, or their authorized delegate, must submit the request using the appropriate form, attaching a valid identity document.
Supporting documents
Applicants must provide the following documents and information:
- Personal information, including place of residence, identity document number, and email address.
- Valid identity document (identity card or passport).
- If the certificate is requested via proxy, the signed proxy form from the applicant must be attached.
- Administrative fees and stamps: Fee for issuing each certificate: €3.92; Duty stamp: €16 every 2 pages; Urgent issuance: additional €3.92.
Timeline for the certificate release
- Standard processing time: In most cases, the certificate can be collected within one week to ten working days.
- Urgent issuance: If the certificate is requested as urgent, the document can be collected the day after the request.
Choice of the certificate type
