Document preparation

Through its specialized support, Team Posting will prepare all the documents needed to obtain the work permit from the Swiss cantonal authorities:

  • Collection of all the documents needed for a positive evaluation (CV and qualifications of the employee, Commercial agreement for the assignment, Hotel booking, Scheduling of the activities, A1 Certificate),
  • Questionnaire for L Permit,
  • Letter of posting for approval of the L Permit,
  • Working and salary conditions for duration of the stay in Switzerland.

Where is the L permit needed?

The L permit is needed for assignments with duration between 3 and 12 months. Should the company have more than one assignment where the employees need to be involved, an L permit for each project must be obtained. As a matter of fact, the document is not valid for the entire Country.

At least 4 weeks before the beginning of the assignment

Based on the immigration authorities in each Swiss canton, it is highly suggested to submit the documents for approval at least 4 weeks before the beginning of activities. The average evaluation time for this procedure is between 4 and 8 weeks.

Global Mobility compliance

When posting an employee abroad, the company should always assess any requirement applicable to the specific assignment in advance.

Should a company decide to begin activities without approval of the L Permit, it may be at risk of potential damages to their reputation due to fines, as well as bans from providing service within Switzerland for up to 5 years.
