Italian education system
In Italy, compulsory education lasts ten years, from the age of 6 to 16. All young people are required to continue their studies until they obtain a three-year professional qualification by the age of 18.
This can be done in state or state-recognized schools within the public education system, but it is also possible to fulfil the obligation by attending private schools that are not state-recognized or through home schooling.

Enrolment procedure and timeline
Enrollment deadlines vary from school to school, so it is best to check directly with the institution where you wish to enroll.
Schools often publish the call for applications on their websites several months before the start of the school year. Although schools may consider applications submitted after the deadline, it is advisable to submit applications by the deadline specified in the call for applications, as meeting the deadline increases the student’s chances of being admitted.
If a student has completed compulsory education, they can access tertiary education courses (university, AFAM, and ITS).
