“Conto termico 2.0”: regional subsidy for replacement of polluting civil biomass heating systems

The Emilia Romagna region, with this announcement, aims to provide incentives for the replacement of woody biomass-fueled heat generators with an emission rating less than or equal to 4 stars, in order to improve air quality and to increase energy efficiency.

Consultation for Building Bonuses

Requirements

Individuals residing in a municipality in the Emilia Romagna Region may apply if:

  • They own or hold/use the property on which the heating system will be replaced and reside in the subject property;
  • The applicant is a recipient of the Conto Termico 2.0 grant from the GSE;
  • They have not taken advantage of the previous call.

What interventions are eligible?

The interventions for which it is possible to apply for the grant are those that involve the dismantling of a wood biomass heat generator and simultaneous purchase and installation of a new 5-star heat generator or heat pump, such as heat pump boiler, wood or pellet, wood or pellet fireplace/stove insert.

No grants are allowed for interventions of:

  • New installation;
  • Replacement of “cheap kitchens.”

Call deadline

Applications for incentives must be submitted to the Emilia -Romagna Region by December 31, 2025. This submission date on the regional application will be maintained unless the funds provided in the call for applications are exhausted.

Amount of the contribution

The regional non-repayable contribution supplements the contribution recognized by the Conto termico (GSE) for the same intervention (which is a prerequisite to the application) up to a maximum eligible expenditure amount per intervention as described below:

The sum of the GSE contribution + the regional contribution shall not exceed the amount of eligible expenditure as reflected in the documentation validated by the GSE to this Region.

It is not possible to combine the Conto Termico incentive with other tax deductions.
