As a continuation of our post on air space closures and flight disruptions in the Middle East, the following information has been updated:

Leaving via air

Israel

Israeli authorities have authorized the gradual resumption of flights from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, with a limit of 100 seats per aircraft. Flights are operated by El Al, Arkia, Israir, and Air Haifa.

El Al: The airline is gradually reopening bookings for flights. Available seats are displayed on its website. El Al customer service can also be reached via WhatsApp at +972-3-977-1111.

Israir, Arkia, and Air Haifa: Bookings can be made directly online through the airlines’ websites. Several European destinations are served by the three airlines (such as Paris, Athens, Larnaca, Prague, Rome, and Barcelona).

The websites may be hard to access due to the high demand for those flights.

Oman

Commercial flights are operating from Muscat to Europe. Internal flights continue from Salalah in Dhofar Governorate to Muscat. Commercial flights to and from Khasab airport in Musandam Governorate are currently suspended.

The websites may be hard to access due to the high demand for those flights.

Other

Other airlines and airports outside of MENA may experience flight disruptions and cancellations due to airspace closures in MENA. Be aware that the demand for those flights remains high.

Travellers are advised to check the status of their flights, stay in close contact with their airline and/or travel agency, and, where possible, opt for alternative solutions with European airlines or direct flights to Europe.

Land Border crossings

Land Border crossings close and open at short-notice.

All travelers are advised to keep an eye on governmental websites for regularly updated information on land borders and flights and discouraged geographical zones, and further help (applying for visas, accomodation, etc)

Impact

When organising a posting, business travel, international transfer or similar for an employee, it is mandatory for an employer in Italy to conduct a risk assessment of the country of destination and inform the employee clearly before carrying out the travel.

Arletti&Partners offers risk assessments and regular updates on the safety of every country for the duration of postings, through our software Atlasposting. Feel free to visit our service page for more information and contact us via the dedicated forms.

For Italians travelling abroad, we recommend the service offered by Arletti&Partners through the Atlasposting software to register your presence abroad on the Dove Siamo Nel Mondo platform, strongly recommended by Italian institutions for Italians abroad.
