Who can apply for conversion
General requirements
Applicants can apply for conversion into subordinate work permits or self-employment work permits.
To apply for conversion to a work permit, it is necessary to have a job proposal from an Italian company. On the other hand, to apply for conversion into self-employment permit, it is necessary to submit documentation about the work activity that is going to be carried out and the financial resources available to exercise it, that should be over the minimum threshold.

Can I work while on a student visa?
Yes. The holder of a student residence permit may work for a maximum of 20 hours per week, within a limit of 1040 working hours per year.
Should I submit additional documents when applying for conversion into a self-employment permit?
If you will carry out an activity as entrepreneur, trader or artisan, you will need to enclose registration with the chamber of commerce.
