Ireland: National Minimum Wage to increase from 1 January 2025

On December 3, 2024, it was announced that an increase in the National Minimum Wage in Ireland will go into effect from the new year.

National Minum Wage Increase

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment of Ireland has declared that from January 1, 2025, the Irish national minimum wage will increase from €12.7/hour to €13.5/hour, for workers aged 20 years and older.

The previous increase dating back to January 1, 2024 had already raised the minum wage from €11,30 ad €12,70/hour.

The following categories of workers remain excluded from the application of the National Minimum Wage:

  • In the case of a sole proprietorship, employees having a family relationship with the employer;
  • Craft apprentices under the Industrial Training Act of 1967 or the Labour of Services Act of 1987.

We remind you that minimum wage conditions also apply to posting workers to Ireland.
