On November 30, the Modena Racetrack hosted an important conference focused on reforming the horse racing betting sector. The event, entitled “Regaining Control of Horse Racing Betting: the only hope for the revival of horse racing,” brought together representatives of the trotting and galloping horse racing categories to sign a joint document to be sent to the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The purpose of this letter was to indicate a clear path for reviving the horse racing sector by reevaluating the issue of betting.
In particular, the representatives asked to be involved in the decision-making processes on betting, in order to bring this issue back into the hands of a body representing the horse racing industry.
Dr. Alessandro Arletti, in his capacity as President of the Modena Society and tax expert, coordinated and moderated the conference, which was attended by distinguished participants, both from the horse racing sector and from state institutions.
