During the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Modena Racecourse, a document for the reform of horse racing betting was presented to Patrizio La Pietra, Undersecretary for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry.
The event took place at the historic Fini delicatessen, attended by local authorities and representatives from the horse racing industry.
The document, which is the result of the conference held on November 30 at the Modena Racetrack, contains a series of proposals to revitalize the horse racing sector through betting reform.
Contents of the document
The proposals concern:
- Unification of the two totalizators;
- Adjustment of tax levies on totalizator betting;
- Alignment of gaming formulas with European standards;
- Introduction of a new game provisionally called “Take Five Plus”;
- Creating synergies with industry operators to expand the horse racing betting audience.
The document was delivered to Undersecretary La Pietra by Alessandro Arletti, president of the Modena Racetrack and head of Studio Arletti & Partners.
Dr. Arletti expressed his gratitude to the undersecretary for his availability and hoped for a meeting in Rome to discuss the technical details of the document in greater depth.
The goal now is to initiate a productive collaboration with MASAF to revitalize the horse racing industry.
