The State Department provides clarifications for the issuance of certain categories of work visas
The issue of H visa, alongside other categories, is being resumed after the latest expiration of the Presidential Proclamation. The P.P. n. 10052, in fact, temporarily suspended entry into the USA for holders of H-1B, H-2B, J visas (for some categories provided by the Exchange Visitor Program) and L visas, but expired on March 31, 2021. Therefore, this restriction is no more effective starting from April 1, 2021.
Issue of H visa resumed alongside J and L
Applicants for H, J and L visas for whom an interview at the Consular Authority of reference has not yet been scheduled will have their applications processed with priority, in accordance with the gradual resumption of ordinary Consular services. Applicants who were denied a visa under the P.P. n. 10052 will be able to resubmit the application, paying the Consular fee again.
Timing of request processing
However, it should be noted that, given that the resumption of services varies depending on the Consular office, there is no certain indication of the timing of the request processing.
