Entry requirements in UAE have been eased since March 2022. At the moment, there are no entry restrictions denying the entry to foreing travellers: however, passengers must comply with a series of restrictions in force regarding testing, quarantine and more.

1. Mandatory PCR test or recovery certificate

To enter Abu Dhabi, all non-vaccinated travelers must submit:

  • a certificate of negative PCR test result, taken within 48 hours prior to the time of departure, or
  • a recovery certificate with a QR code, not older than 30 days.
 

On the other hand, to enter Dubai, all travelers must submit:

  • a certificate of negative PCR test result, taken within 48 hours prior to the time of departure, or
  • a recovery certificate not older than 30 days.
 

The certificate must be issued by certified laboratories in English or Arabic, and it must contain a QR-code.

2. Vaccination requirements

Vaccinated travelers can submit a vaccination certificate proving that the traveler has been vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the WHO or by the UAE, instead of any of the above-mentioned certificates.

3. Quarantine restrictions in UAE

Upon arrival, travelers may be subject to a further test. They must quarantine until the reception of the results and if they result positive, they will be required to quarantine at their own destination.

4. Further fulfillments to enter the United Arab Emirates

Travelers arriving in Dubai must have an international health insurance, covering any Covid-related expenses. On the other hand, travelers arriving in Abu Dhabi must upload their vaccination certificate on the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship app. Upon arrival, they will get an Unified Identification Number to be used for the Al Hosn registration.
