Current travel restrictions in Colombia are still stringent, even though the Covid-19 pandemic situation has stabilized all over the country.

1. Entry requirements in Colombia

As of April 5, 2023, a vaccination certificate or a negative COVID – 19 test result is NO longer required for entry into the country.

2. Negative test result to enter Colombia

All international travelers aged 18 years or older who have completed the vaccination cycle starting from at least 14 days can enter Colombia only if they provide evidence of their vaccination status. Alternatively, people can enter Colombia if they provide a proof of a negative molecular COVID-19 test effectuated within 72 hours before boarding or if they provide a proof of a negative antigen test effectuated within 48 hours before boarding.

3. Quarantine and Isolation restrictions in Colombia

No quarantine period for foreign travelers entering the country is currently set up. However, people must respect all protection and hygiene measures taken by the Government.

4. National movements restrictions in Colombia

Public transport is operational and there are no specific restrictions in place for intercity and interstate travel. On public transport, mask wearing is currently mandatory. Furthermore, it is recommended to keep a social distancing of at least 2 meters.

5. Vaccination and masks

Vaccination in Colombia is also activated for foreigners who plan to receive the vaccine during their travel. Currently, the vaccines authorized in Colombia are:

  • AstraZeneca
  • Pfizer
  • Moderna
  • Zifivax
  • Johnson & Johnson
  • Sinovac


Any person aged 2 years or older must wear a face mask in specific indoor places, such as hospitals, aged-care facilities, health-care facilities. In particular, mask wearing is obligatory in all indoor places in those cities where the vaccination coverage is below 70% and the booster dose coverage is below 40%.

6. Testing positive for COVID-19: What to do

It is a legal requirement for people diagnosed with COVID-19 to isolate. In case of positivity, the person must isolate for at least 7 days.
